Be Well. Live Well. Your Way.

Welcome to ADHD Unboxed

  • Do you have ADHD or suspect you might?
  • Do cycles of burnout and overwhelm make daily life a struggle?
  • Do you wish you could find calm within the chaos?

You’re not alone, and you don’t have to figure this out by yourself.

Hi, I’m Katie. I created ADHD Unboxed as a friendly, down-to-earth space to give people with ADHD support that sticks. My coaching meets you where you are, giving you the time and space to explore your wonderful ADHD mind and any challenges you face in your daily life.

We’ll look at your unique relationship with ADHD and everything it touches; from managing overwhelm and stress, navigating family life or work, right through to your health and relationship with food. We’ll start where you are right now, focusing on what matters to you. Together, we’ll create realistic goals and strategies to help you work with your ADHD, rather than fighting it.

At ADHD Unboxed, we don't just focus on surface-level strategies. With over 10 years of combined experience as an occupational therapist and health coach, I draw on a range of skills and knowledge to help get to the root of your roadblocks. Together, we’ll uncover what’s really going on — so you can create meaningful, lasting change.

Having ADHD myself, I understand your doubts: ‘This sounds amazing, but what happens when the novelty wears off, or the things I’ve learned don’t stick?’

That’s what makes ADHD Unboxed different.

My approach is grounded in behavioural change, so I won’t just hand you the tools and run. We’ll work together to build and master your personal ADHD toolkit, so you can move forward with confidence - your way.

Be Well. Live Well. Your Way.

It’s more than a tagline — it’s the foundation of my coaching philosophy, and here’s why:

Live Well

Living well means focusing on what truly matters to you - and letting go of what doesn’t.

But with the pressures, distractions, and quick fixes of modern life, it’s easy to lose touch with life’s simple pleasures.

I’ll support you to create a balanced way of living, rooted in creativity, calm, and curiosity — one that helps you reconnect with your true nature.

Outline of a compass

Your Way

There is no ‘one size fits all’ approach to ADHD coaching. Your experience is unique, and your coaching should be too. We'll uncover what’s getting in your way and find strategies that fit your life, your strengths, your goals.

If your goals and direction change along the way - it's all good. This is your journey, I’m simply here to help you navigate the peaks and valleys in a way that works for you.

A Little Bit About Katie…

Alongside being a registered occupational therapist and health coach, I’m also a down-to-earth Yorkshire lass with a big heart.

I was diagnosed with ADHD just before turning 40 — funnily enough, it was through coaching others on their own ADHD journeys that I recognised the signs in myself. Looking back, the clues were always there. But the diagnosis helped me finally make sense of things — and understand myself in a way I hadn’t before.

It got me reflecting on the parts of myself I’d forgotten — especially the carefree, creative spirit I had growing up. I’m grateful to be an 80s child, when life felt simpler. But as I got older, I started pushing against my natural state, trying to fit into boxes that weren’t made for me.

By 25, I’d left a controlling marriage and returned to glorious Yorkshire to rebuild my life. Though I had two wonderful boys, I felt I’d missed out on some of my best years and was determined to catch up. In a whirlwind few years, I passed my driving test, gained a degree, began a career and planned a wedding! I barely stopped for breath.

It sounds like a success story, and in many ways, it was. But trying so hard to be “normal” and pushing myself came at a cost — burnout, anxiety, exhaustion, and a constant feeling of not being good enough. Thankfully, my lifelong passion for wellbeing - and the wellness toolkit I’d built over the years kept me going, gently pulling me back to safety.

But at some point, that toolkit stopped working. Life threw some heavy things my way, including the loss of my lovely Mum, and I began to unravel.

Then came my ADHD diagnosis. Suddenly, a lot made sense, and 'being well' took on new meaning. Until then, I’d worn the label ‘not good enough’ so often it had started to feel true. The diagnosis changed that. It allowed me to begin stepping out of the boxes I’d been squeezing myself into and accept who I was again — and with that came freedom.

This freedom also brought grief — a deep sadness for all the years I’d spent not understanding myself, and the pressure I’d carried. Thankfully, grief gave way to self-compassion. And with it, I finally began treating myself with the kindness and respect I’d always shown to everyone else.

I see these same struggles in so many of the people I work with: feeling inadequate, believing we need to change who we are to feel better. But we don’t. We just need to stop forcing our brains to work in ways they weren’t designed to — and start shaping life to work with us, not against us.

That’s the heart of what I do now. Together, we unpack all the ‘shoulds,’ meet your basic needs, build awareness, and support you to live well with ADHD — your way. I can’t tell you how rewarding it is to watch people find clarity, cut through the noise, and make space for what really matters.

My biggest takeaway — and the one I support others with daily — is this: You don’t need to be fixed. You just need to reconnect with who you are, and learn how to make life work for you.

So if you’re feeling lost, get in touch. We’ll work together to help you find your way back home.

Your Questions… Answered

Thinking of booking a session but not sure what to expect? No worries - take a quick look at the FAQs section below to get a feel for how I work.

Don’t see the answer you’re looking for? Drop me a message, and I’ll be happy to help.

What does an ADHD coaching session with you look like?

We start with a free 20-minute phone call to make sure my services are a good fit for you. If you feel good about our chat, you can book a 50-minute initial assessment session to explore what's going on with you and your goals for our time together. Then we’ll book you in for a follow-up session and go from there.

How long are your sessions?

After our initial session, all follow-up sessions are 50 minutes. If you’d like to arrange longer sessions, drop me a message.

Do you accept funding through Access to Work?

Yes I do. If this is available to you, let me know and we can go from there.

How often would we meet?

My coaching and support moves at your pace. After our initial session, I’d recommend booking weekly or fortnightly for the first month. This helps us build our therapeutic relationship and most importantly - your momentum.

Where do sessions take place?

It’s important that you feel comfortable during our sessions. The right environment often supports the progress we make, which is why I offer in-person, telephone and video sessions.

What if I need to reschedule or cancel?

No worries at all. All I ask is that you contact me at least 48 hours before your appointment. This allows me to use my time efficiently.

Can you help me with work-related ADHD challenges?

Of course. As an occupational therapist and health coach, I’ve supported people through work-related challenges. My background enables me to support you in developing practical, effective strategies to return to or stay in work. I can also liaise with employers and provide reports with recommendations for reasonable adjustments, if needed.

How do I know if you’re the right ADHD coach for me?

You don’t. That’s why I offer a free 20-minute intro call. We’ll have an informal chat, where I find out more about you and what you’re looking for and you can learn more about how I work. From there, it’s completely your choice as to whether we work together.

Do I need to prepare for or bring anything for our first session?

Just bring yourself and an idea of what you’d like to get from our time together.

Is there a minimum number of sessions I have to commit to?

No. You’re free to book sessions as and when you need them. It’s a good idea to keep your sessions fairly consistent though. This supports your progress and ensures you don’t miss out on preferred slots.

What qualifications and certifications do you hold?

As of right now, my qualifications are:

  • BSc (Hons) Occupational Therapy
  • Institute of Integrative Nutrition Health Coach Certificate
  • Peak Health Coaching: Intermediate Certificate in Health and Wellbeing Coaching
  • Eating Freely, Emotional Eating and Binge Eating Disorder Specialist

Continuing professional development completed in a range of topics including;

I'm also registered with 2 professional bodies:

  • HCPC (Registered Occupational Therapist)
  • UKIHCA (Registered Health Coach)

Being registered with these professional bodies means I adhere to high standards of practice, ethics, and ongoing learning — giving you peace of mind that you're receiving safe, evidence-based support.

What is an Occupational Therapist and how can they help with ADHD?

Occupational Therapists (OTs) help people overcome challenges that affect their ability to do everyday things — from self-care and work to leisure and relationships. When it comes to ADHD, an OT can help you explore how your environment, routines, mental wellbeing, and physical health affect your ability to function. Together, we look at the big picture of your life, identifying barriers and building sustainable strategies to support your wellbeing, productivity, and sense of purpose.

What is a Health and Wellbeing Coach?

A Health and Wellbeing Coach helps you discover what matters most to you and supports you in making changes to improve your health, energy, and overall wellbeing. This isn’t about strict rules or quick fixes. Instead, coaching focuses on your goals, strengths, and values — helping you build healthier habits, manage stress, and stay motivated. My approach blends coaching with therapeutic insight to support real, meaningful change — your way.
